- The Standard for Translation Companies is already a CEN project
The CEN (Centre Européen de
Normalisation) has accepted the EUATC Quality Standard project to transform
it into a European Standard. This standard had been initially developed by the
EUATC in order to
achieve a more specific quality control system for translation companies. It
was the result of intensive work conducted by different EUATC member countries
and it combines the best of ISO 9000, DIN 2345, ATA Taalmerk, UNI 10574:1996,
the EUATC Code of Conduct and the Code of Good Practice in Translation. The
different CEN members (national standard institutes such as BSI, DIN, AFNOR,
ENI) will form a "one-day working group" together with
representatives of the EUATC and other organisations in order to start
developing this new Standard.
