Catedrática de Psicología Experimental en la Universidad de Deusto y directora d el Laboratorio de Psicología Experimental (Labpsico). Investigadora invitada, durante diversas temporadas, en las universidades de Málaga, Minnesota (USA), Queensland (Australia), Sídney (Australia) y Gante (Bélgica). Vicepresidenta de la Sociedad Española de Psicología Experimental (SEPEX), desde enero de 2011 colabora con el Ministerio en la gestión del área de psicología a nivel nacional (en 2011 con el Ministerio de Ciencia e Innovación - MICINN; a partir de 2012 con el Ministerio de Economía y Competitividad). Su libro "adaptarse a Internet: Mitos y realidades de los aspectos psicológicos de la red" obtuvo el premio Prisma al mejor texto de divulgación científica. Actualmente dirijo un proyecto de investigación sobre Pseudociencias e Ilusiones Causales.

 

summary of CV

I am a professor of Psychology and director of Lapsico, the Experimental Psychology Laboratory at Deusto University (Bilbao, Spain). Our research interests at Labpsico are the psychology of learning and memory, particularly causal learning: How do the mental processes that allow us to learn work, and particularly how do we learn to associate causes and effects. With regard to the most applied aspects of our research, we are interested in the study of pseudoscience and superstition, and particularly the causal illusions that are normally at their core, as well as the strategies that can be used to minimize their impact in society. The study of the psychological aspects of the Internet (as well as the study of the Internet as a Psychology Laboratory) is also an important part of our research agenda.
